Solfeggio and Thunder, what good can come of that?
I have just asked myself, Solfeggio and Thunder, what good can come of that? It’s a serious question, though in all honesty, probably rhetorical.
I could just leave it there and move on, that would be more fun, well, maybe for me. Actually, if the roles were reversed I might enjoy trying to fathom the title.
I was originally just going to write out a couple of quotes that I heard this morning but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it, maybe another day and possibly as soon as I have the urge, rather than putting it to one side, we all know how that goes.
Enough of the cryptic, let’s get on with it.
First one, then another
While posting something on Instagram earlier today and something happened to catch my eye and I began to scroll, yes, I should have known better but in this instance, it was worthwhile.
I paused, rewound and wrote down two short pieces of dialogue which I knew I would be sharing with you at some point.
After spending the last half an hour going back through the last gazillion posts to find the original clip, so I could put a name to the face and then another fifteen minutes tracking down the interviewer on the second clip.
Well, now I know both and will never forget their names, though I did have a hunch on the second one but needed to have confirmation, you have to validate your sources you know.
So, the first is Scott Pelley interviewing Elon Musk as part of a Sixty Minutes special, not sure when it was recorded though, there was only so much research I could do before I needed to write.
Scott: “You had that third failure in a row”
Elon: “Mmm”
Scott: “Did you think ‘I need to pack this in’?”
Elon: “Never”
Scott: “Why not?”
Elon: “I don’t ever give up. I mean, I’d have to be dead or completely incapacitated”
Short and sweet but full of conviction. I don’t know the ‘ins and outs’ of Elon Musk’s journey or much about the man himself but I think that short excerpt probably tells you all you need to know about what is needed to succeed.
I really shouldn’t have been surprised.
The second one came from the mouth of the one who is lovingly called ‘Pitbull’, otherwise known as Armando Christian Pérez, the rapper.
Again, I know little of the man but have listened to and enjoyed a number of his tracks, I am fairly eclectic when it comes to my taste in music.
“Short steps, long vision and I think everybody now..it’s..we’re living in a society that’s filled with instant gratification. Instant, instant, instant gratification. But, if they only knew the way you want things faster, what comes quicker, leaves quicker because it’s easy money. You don’t appreciate it, you don’t understand it.”
That’s it, two short pieces of dialogue I managed to hear this morning. I have a number of notepads that have dozens upon dozens of notes scribbled in, all from chance encounters.
Solfeggio and Thunder, what good can come of that?
I suppose we’d better take care of the title conundrum, though it will be fairly anti-climatic. Before I started this little foray into the world on transcription (small as it was) I was listening to
a track entitled ‘Solfeggio Frequencies-Full Body Aura Cleanse & Cell Regeneration Therapy’
It was on ‘Meditative Minds’ YouTube channel, if you’re curious.
A little bit of ‘easy listening’ to help aid the cause, however, I had also been searching for various lyrics, that I had seen a friend of mine (Rami @ThrilledBe) post on Twitter.
This, in turn, took me to YouTube and the acoustic delights of a band, namely ‘Thunder’. Now, rather than having to keep stopping and starting tracks, I just left the Solfeggio playing and listened to the other ones playing over the top.
It was a surprisingly good match. The Thunder album was ‘Backstreet Symphony and is well worth a listen, if you’re into that kind of thing, of course. I’m not, normally but the combined effect was pleasing, go figure.
There now, probably not worth the wait but what can you do, when the urge strikes you have to go with it.
Enough for tonight, once again it has a been a pleasure. Be safe.
