Happy New Year Or Is It Too Late To Say That?

Happy New Year Or Is It Too Late To Say That?

Well, is it too late to say Happy New Year? Where are we now, the third, I think we should still be able to pass on this seasonal salutation. By the way, this is a relatively short post, the reasons will become apparent as you read through.

I had planned on passing on my feeling of goodwill to all men earlier this week, or late last week depending on how you view the current timeline. It’s Sunday, which I have always classed as the end of a week though many would disagree.

Just a thought, if you’ve just arrived here for the first time, you might like some context, maybe read “Welcome To Day One of Twack’s Blog.”

Sunday, as the first day of the week? Not sure that it fills me with gusto or drive but that’s just me and I am sure it has something to do with childhood memories of a more traditional Sunday.

Early to bed, after a bath and nothing noteworthy on the television, though there were only three channels back then, so the odds weren’t in my favour.

Anyway, I have had three things on my ‘to do’ list for the last three days. I started out, with a positive mindset, on the first of the month and purposely kept the number of items down to a bare minimum.

Write two posts and advertise a car on eBay, even I thought I was being easy on myself but as usual, life decided otherwise and took my time away without so much as a ‘by your leave’.

So, it’s not that I haven’t been productive, far from it, just not in the areas I desired. I had to make a supermarket run first thing Friday morning, New Years Day no less, then when I returned I spent some time removing Ziva’s battery.

I could give you the ‘skinny’ on everything ‘Ziva’ but it would be easier if you just searched for ‘Twack Ziva’. Due to the search power of Google, you should find a previous post amid the first pages of search results, such is the benefit of having an odd name.

Alternatively, you could read “And Now, The End Is Near” which has a nice picture of her. The one above should keep you going.

Once that was done the rest of the day got away from me, namely, baths and preparing dinner took me into the evening and by then my ability to focus was decidedly diminished.

In fact, it wasn’t until yesterday that I managed to write anything at all. In fact, due to the wonders of modern science, the time span between the beginning and the end of this sentence is two days, that’s right, it’s taken me two days to get the chance to come back and finish this post. (Shocked face emoji goes here)

What can you do? Life is an irresistible force.

Anyway, I’m going to wrap this up as it’s holding up the prose pipeline. I really should make one of my resolutions to finish and publish a post on the same day, something I seem to struggle with at the moment.

We’ve just gone into another ‘lockdown’ here in the UK, so that’s going to make the next few weeks interesting, or not, as the case may be. One of my close friends phoned me yesterday to inform me that he’d had a ‘Covid’ test as he’d lost his sense of smell.

Later he texted me to let me know that he had tested positive and would be spending the next ten days in ‘self-isolation’. Only the previous weekend I had toyed with the idea of visiting him, guess I got lucky by not going which doesn’t make me feel any good though, it makes it all very real.

Just in case you were wondering, yet another day has been and gone, this must be a record but not one to boast about.

Take it easy and stay safe.

Twack Romero.
